Recently I was in a photo project and below is the words of the photographer when he shared it online...here is the photo of me also...

Without further ado I present ...PALANTE- a portrait series shot on #hasselblad for @groundtruth about Puerto Rican youth and their stories on economic opportunity in the U.S. Here is one of my first post in this series.

Chief 69 @chief69bx a.k. Nelson Seda, 24, is a millennial from the South Bronx who turned his passion for Hip Hop into a personal business and form of income. He sells his original graffiti art, performs live music, and dances. He has been featured in the New York Times for his independent Hiphop career. Recently he has been working on a series of art pieces and teaching Graffiti Art at an after school program.

"What I have experienced ever since middle school is that most black and latinos I know are straight up unemployed so they have to find other ways to make a living. Hip Hop was an easy way out. Since 1979, Hip Hop music came out creating so many jobs that opened up for blacks and latinos. From performing music to helping on tours. Even today helping with graphic design, designing albums, posters, and logos. Having this talent I can make money right now. Because of the internet I can tell you I have gained thousands of customers through Facebook, Instagram, and social media. Personally I've just been hustling. I refuse totally and completely in my fiber as a human to sell drugs and rob people. But I do know a lot of people who have and i can't be mad at them because I know why they do that. At the same time, I know a lot of people who work 9-5 and they are not happy. I don't want to work a regular 9-5 at some office or doing customer service and hating my job. There is always a way out....the american way is not to tell you there's a way out. You make your own way out. You make your own business or your own invention. Look at most people who are successful that are Americans. That's just part of the American way." #documentary #storytelling #nuyorican #hiphop #makeportraits #blackandwhite #everydaybronx #street #journalism #economic #youth #puertorican #boricua #120 #bronx #bboy

HOW ABOUT SOME KNOWLEDGE - KNOWLEDGE OF SELF - KNOWLEDGE BORN - KNOWLEDGE IS POWER - CHIEF69

recently I released this music video I am glad to share and I also did these interviews below so enjoy....also I have more interviews and music videos coming soon - to any Directors in NYC wishing to collaborate on videos or interviews and really talk about HIP HOP in depth please reach out I am always humbled and honored to share my work and my point of view I am not the only person out here able to do the work I do but I am glad to simply share the platforms and stage with my peers , thank you to everyone who hires me or works with me and believes in me....

so many HIP HOP events and showcases and I am always hitting up promoters and host and organizers to involve Bboys and writers and the actual raw and often unspoken for aspects of HIP HOP and these people rarely seem to get it , they dont even connect the dots and see the cultural value in it and are confused on what the hell it is I actually do or am asking them ....these are the same people who are radio station programmers and school or community space leadership all confused when I approach them from a place of being culturally responsible and using HIP HOP and its tools for the same end goal but from different angles ....its the hardest job...Its not fair for 42 years of all the work put in by others to go in vain because of a few rotten apples in 2016 making decisions to keep the global mainstream dialogue closed off to people like me because it just might take food off their plate or worse it might not even affect them and they just dont want to see any contrast in popular thought and thinking .....Im not alone...far from it...but it breaks my heart to feel like I am alone sometimes and to see HIP HOP used in such divisive foul ways to destroy so many lives when it has the power to do the opposite....this is why I loose sleep and why I spend all day every day in HIP HOP mode...
